Police Seek Gelman Maksim In Brooklyn Stabbing Spree

Sources say investigators were searching late Friday for a man who allegedly stabbed his stepfather, his girlfriend and her mother and injured two others in Brooklyn that day. Maksim Gelman, 23, was suspected to have killed his stepfather, 54-year-old Aleksander Kuznetsov, according to sources. Kuznetsov was found dead Friday morning inside his house at 2830 East 27th Street in Sheepshead Bay. He had been stabbed several times. Later in the day, police said Gelman stabbed and killed two women at 2466 East 24th Street, fled in a getaway car and then allegedly carjacked a Pontiac. Sources said the victims are Gelman's girlfriend and her mother. The Pontiac Bonneville said to be driven by Gelman. The Pontiac Bonneville said to be driven by Gelman. Police said Gelman stabbed the Pontiac's driver and then struck a pedestrian in the process. Neighbors were shocked by the stabbing spree. “He's a nice kid. He used to walk by and say hi. He'd sit down and talk for a little bit. It's just, it's a shame,” said superintendent Anthony Riggio. “That's why it's bothering me a little bit, 'cause I'm kind of like, I know these people. And everybody here, it's so nice. We don't have any trouble here ever. So, it's a sad thing.” Gelman is 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He was believed to be driving a green, four-door 1995 Pontiac Bonneville with license plate number KJX189.
